I am new to scroll sawing and just bought a used Dewalt DW788 Type 1 on craigslist. Have not even used it yet and already blew a fuse after a minute or so of running. Ran good when I looked at it before buying, although a little noisy. Thought I could do the fix on this site for that. But then while listening to noise, I found the variable speed not working. Saw was running erratically, speed up and slow down, then suddenly stopped after a minute or so of running. Checked the fuse and it was blown.  Also had a lot of vibration before the fuse blew.
Talked to the seller and he said we could do whatever I wanted, but it is over 60 miles each way to return it.

Any suggestions on what to do.

T'wer me, and the seller will give your money back, I'd take it back to him.  60 miles is not far.  Of course if he sold it to you for next to nothing, I might look into what the problem was.
