Where/how do you give credit to pattern designer?
« on: June 08, 2014, 10:06:00 pm »
I love to cut detailed fretwork.  There's virtually no continuous space on the back to document the name of the pattern designer.  Where, and how, do I give credit to the pattern designer?

probably the first credit you give him/her is cutting the Pattern!  ;D
the next way is to post pictures of it  in the Gallery or brag section and mention the pattern designers name and/or website if you purchased it.
occasionally you van send an email to the designer for his/her own website?
well, that's my 2 cents  8)

I think you are asking how do you attach it to the fretwork?  Don't have an answer, but that is how I am reading the question.

I've done a couple pieces where I have wanted to give a little back ground on the item & the designers name.  I've paraphrased their magizine article along with their name and printed a separate slip to accompany the item. Brian

If you're selling work then you can attach a tie-on tag to show price, describe what it is, material, size, etc. That tag can include the designer's name.

If the piece has a backing, or a stand, I'll make a computer label and attach it with spray adhesive, and then spray polyurethane over it to keep it from peeling off.  I also do this with All of my Intarsia pieces.  Those will list the pattern name, designer, and woods used, along with the month and year I made it.  I do the same with my business card so people know how to find me.
