Font Or Program Help
« on: May 23, 2014, 08:58:38 pm »
Hey Guys, quick question. I have been trying to find a program to make like mongram letters. The kind that you would see with the persons last name initial and then the two first intials by it side. Example    dKj in sort of script. I know its hard to understand but I'm trying. Well any way. If you have any idea what I'm talking about, your help would be great. Thanks in advance....Dave

Can you provide a link or a photo of something similar?

GIMP, Inkscape, and Word have the ability to shape graphic fonts different ways.  Inkscape has some interesting spacing options so the characters can be made to merge together if needed to keep them together after cutting.

Dave - is this getting close? Done in Inkscape to be connected and to stand on a table (if cut thick enough - 3/4" would work fine). It is scaled to 4" wide by 2.5" high.

I inlay lettering in a script font that I found in "Word". Not a monogram but they have lots of fancy scripts there.

I often digitize monograms for my wife's embroidery machine.  If you tell me the letters, size, and layout, I would be happy to send you a pic if it might help.

Yes that is close but it was in script. Thanks for the help. I'm going to relay what you guys wrote back to me to my daughter the computer expert and see how she makes out. Thanks for all the help.
