New Addition to My Shop
« on: February 17, 2014, 07:54:39 pm »
Just purchased a dust collector for my shop and can't wait to get it set up and try it out. I will put it together tomorrow, try it out and give a report.  :)

Oh, by the way I only paid $140.00 (brand new).

I bought mine from the same chain, slightly higher price - but I agree it is a decent unit and I have been using mine for at least a couple of years - with no problems at all.

Enjoy it Russ

Congratulations! Good investment.
Also, you can hook a hose up from your dust collector to a 55 gallon drum or similar to
allow any big parts that get sucked up to drop into the barrel instead of going through
the impeller of your dust collector.
I like that set up primarily because I have the second port collecting dust from a
belt sander and sometimes intarsia pieces can get away from me.
God Bless! Spirithorse

great thing Russ, and a real bargain.
always want to have one but sitting in the basement, thinks it will make to much noise all the time.
let me know how you think of that noise level.
it's a great dust collector!!! will keep the shop clean.

I have a smaller Grizzly Russ.  Really makes a huge difference when the planner is churning out chips!

Wow, that is super cheap! Right now, I pipe my dust out of my basement shop into my garage where I have the shop vac. Very little noise in the house or the basement. I'm not sure I got the room in the garage to put one of those tho.

That is very similar to the one I have. Last year I picked up a kit that included 2 inch piping with gates and elbows. I now have the unit set up in the upper level of my shed with piping going to all my power tools. Noise is not an issue and the extraction is excellent. Very pleased, I am sure you will be to.

Very nice Russ.  I got one similar to that a few years ago and it is a big help in keeping the dust down.  I still use vacuums hooked to my scroll saws but use the dust collector for every thing else. As was said, especially the planner.  One of the investments I make was to get a smaller micro dust filter (the top bag) to keep in the real fine dust.  Have phun.
