I wish we still had usable rail. It's all but gone in the midwest US.

They took up our rail lines in 1983. It was all sold to developing countries. I remember the trains very well as I grew up along the main line. Fondest memory was when we placed pennies, a one cent coin, on the rail. After the train went through we would find the flattened coins and then use them in the pinball machines at the local snack bar. It worked great until the owner took us aside and said he would really like to find the kids who were using flattened coins in the machines. I sorta think he knew. I grew a lot that day! ;D
What are we here for but to help others. (Author unknown)
