Need Advice

I made this cross out of Padauk. I want to glue this metal ornamental cross to the center. Not sure if normal Gorilla Wood Glue will stick to both the wood and metal. Anyone ever glue a metal item to wood? If so I am open to suggestions.

The Gorilla wood glue is pretty strong.  I have never tried it on metal. The Padauk is a very oily wood so be sure that it is sealed and the sealer is fully cured before gluing onto it.  I have had luck with two part epoxy.

I would second the idea of epoxy and a clean, oil free surface.

Thanks all for the fantastic advice on this. I will get some epoxy and try that. I will post the final project later.

I've made several knives that have steel blades and wooden handles - top one is oak, bottom is Padauk. Epoxy is what the knife kit makers tell you to use, but both steel and wood need to be cleaned with acetone before applying Epoxy.

If you have not tried it, you might look at getting a buffing wheel and some rouge. The Padauk shines up like a billiard ball after buffing with the rouge.
