I can't make a pattern but if someone will, I say go for it, don't sweat the small stuff and give it to your father in law ASAP.
If someone sues you send them to me, I'll handle it.  ;)

I found this answer

YES - there are copyright issues. Every Service now has a Licensing Dept at the HQ level. You have to participate/sign their agreement, which basically states that they own your art (ie: your version of the USMC EGA on a mug or shirt).

Unverified but the problem I see is that  they are not going to the poster, they are going to Steve with warrants in one hand and the other outstretched looking to be filled with $$$$$$

I would keep this one private.

If your not selling it for profit is it really copyrighted? Its staying in the family and you are giving it to somebody I would say go for it, pretty sure he not going to say much of how or where he got it.

Sorry but the patch is copyrighted. If someone wants to help you make a pattern through e-mailing the picture to them (hint, hint) then I don't care.

As long as it is for personal use then there shouldn't be a problem. You can also post a picture of the finished project in the Brag Forum.

Just no copyrighted pics or patterns here.

Does it need to be intarsia or will fretwork do the job? I found an ega stencil on ebay that should work. If that's no good, if you email me a link or a copy of what you want, I can make a fretwork pattern for you.

Too bad I didn't see the pic to know if I could make it an intarsia pattern before it was
pulled. Send a pic to spirithorse55@hotmail.com and I'll let you know if I think I am capable.

Thanks to those who are keeping Steve's site safe and protecting everybody's interests
God Bless! Spirithorse
