Wondering....
« on: July 03, 2010, 10:51:17 am »
Are there forums dedicated to other hobbies that have people who are as friendly, helpful, sharing and concerned for each other and what we do and how we do it as we Scrollers?

Yes there are forums for anything you can imagine. I guess when you get 2 or more people interested in the same thing you get a kindship of brother and sisterhood that would withstand the worlds worst problems. Wouldn't it be nice if we could have a world forum, and everyone were friends? Brings out the nice in everyone as you say. Better than prozac. Who knows. But, I've never met more great people worldwide than in woodworking forums. Now if we could get those politicians a hobby we would be set. Let's keep them out of the forums though. I smell some walnut calling me right now. Ummmmm

I used to hang out in a forum for Honda VTX motorcycles which was huge and as helpfull as you can imagine!  Then a young man in a car made a left turn into me and my motorcycle.  Totalled the bike, shattered my kneecap, broke a few other things, and ended my motorcycle riding activities.  That's one reason it is so good to find this group!

I am involved in another forum where the people are just as friendly and open as we are here.  I have to agree with Elvin.  Give the politicians a hobby and keep them out of the forums.  LOL.

Havn't come across one, I'm also a member of 2 other scroll forums but not a lot seems to happen, so say mainly here where members like to chat, I should say freinds not members.

For me this group is more than just friends, I think of everyone here as an extension of my family.

I think Janet is right, Steve got things off on the right foot and he continues to set a good example for everyone.  Thank you Steve for all you do!

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally! Then go home!

I feel the longer I am here, the more I get to know people, the closer I feel to them. You are right it is an extension of family. And thanks to Steve for giving all of us this opportunity.
