Irish green

I'm cutting a piece for a family of Irish decent. Can anyone please confirm that the green usually associated with Eire is Kelly green? Thank you, Barry.

Kelly Green is associated with Ireland. It is a bright green, colored RGB(76, 187, 23).


The green panel of the Irish flag (green, white, orange) uses a darker, more blue green, colored (00, 154, 73).

I'd think the flag green (a little darker) would make a better backer for fretwork, 



or even darker Hunter Green (53, 94, 59).

I personally prefer and have used Hunter Green for my Irish crosses.

I too prefer the Hunter Green...I think so long as it is dark green you will be good to go.

I guess that pretty much settles the issue, "hunter green" for the backer it is. Thank you all, and have a tall, frosty one on me.
