Anyone know anthing about "Kiwi Pine'. I got 1X6 orf it out of the select stock at Menards. Seems very hard to cut. Blade Choice?

I have never met this wood before, but I would go with a #5 or #7. I guess it all depends on what kind of cuts you are doing. Of course if it is intricate work, then a #1 can still cut fine, just a lot slower and might break. I'm guessing when you say it is a 1x something then it is really 3/4" thick??

Just tried to do a google search on that and got zip.  Kiwi is generally something from New Zealand?  Perhaps it is one of the woods from there.

When you say "Kiwi Pine" here in NZ there is no Kiwi Pine but there is Pinus radiata.
"Radiata pine is grown commercially in New Zealand as an exotic species from the Monterey peninsular in California."

It just grow twice as fast in NZ then anywhere else in the world, so technically it grows here but it's not Kiwi.
If it is Pine then it's very easy to cut (soft) I don't like it for scrolling but if you find some old man pine the heart then you are cooking.
