Butterfly box
« on: September 24, 2013, 12:29:06 pm »
Hi Steve:
To make the butterfly box did you laminate pieces of wood together to make the 1" walls or did you use one piece?  If you used one piece, where did you find such stock?

Thanks,
Vince

Vince, you do not need to copy the pattern exactly. You can use thicker or thinner wood whatever you have. the pattern (all patterns really) is only a guide or idea for you to follow. If you want to laminate, It's OK to use different woods also. Sometimes I laminate things just for looks.
Hope this helps.
Pete

PS Here's a bowl I made with laminated layers a while back.
