Arrived in Mumbai (Bombay) last night and in Kolkata (Calcutta) today for a consulting job. 15 hours from Newark NJ to Mumbai in the cheap seats. I'll post some photos soon.

Ok thats answered my question. Business.  Its 27 hours from Australia to England.  Can only afford the cheap seats.   :D :D :D

Big storm yesterday that cooled things off a bit here.

We got out to tour today. Victoria Memorial, the Howrah Bridge, and Mother Teresa's convent. Things go from luxurious to decrepit within a city block. Here's a representative picture - a woman out shopping in a $2000 sari, crossing in front of a group of buildings that are probably not worth as much as her outfit.


Here's a tired looking guy moving 10 bags of something heavy on the back of his tricycle. Too heavy to pedal so he has to get off and push.
