Not scrolled, but usefull

This is a push block I made from Cherry. If your wondering about the weird glue ups to get the length of it, I got these scraps from my shop class at school or I would've just made it going with the grain. Anyhow I decided to make this two handled push block for jointing pieces. The blocks that came with it didn't give a good grip on the board to be able to control it.

Interesting, useful and a nice way of using small pieces, too much loverly grained timber/lumber goes into the firebox.

Thanks, and Ray I got this 6" Craftsman jointer, (same one as in Steve Good's tour of workshop video), a 14" Craftsman band saw, a 12" Craftsman planer, and a Craftsman oscillating spindle sander. Soon I am getting a router and in the future a small lathe to turn stuff on. Now with all of this, please don't think I am some spoiled kid or anything, I saved up and got all of it at once. I actually saved $200 on the jointer because it was from the floor. They must of discontinued them or something.

Wow, what a haul of goodies!  Good thing you made that nice new shop to put it all in.     I commend you for being able to save up for the tools you want.  Not easy to do, especially when you're still in school.

Nice job too on turning scraps into something useful.  As long as it does the job you want, who care which way the grain goes?
