Need some ideas
« on: May 15, 2013, 11:26:58 am »
Hi everyone. I could use some ideas. Here's the deal...in September my MC is hosting a spaghetti dinner to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Foundation. We will be having an auction and I am donating 2 biker themed items, 2 military items, and 2 luminaries for the ladies. Since I have plenty of time I would like some ideas on a couple more "non-themed" items. Any ideas would be helpful but I may need patterns to make them. Thanks in advance.

I would try a bowl or two or maybe a vase. More artsy/craftsy type items. I once sold a very ornate box made of walnut for $75.00 at a charity auction. People tend to spend a bit more when it is for charity.

How about a couple of those knife kits? They cost $10-12 for the kit plus the sheath cost, but they might go over in a military setting. I posted pictures of 3 I made, and Tommy (TOverT) has a bunch of pics on line.

Have you tried cutting the Wounded Warrior image? It would make a nice scroll job.

Since is MC related, how about wooden cup holders to clamp to handle bars.   I don't have a pattern, but I bet it wouldn't be too hard.  Wooden Key hanger / peg rack.    Oh, with summer coming, how about wooden disks to put under your kickstand to keep it from sinking in dirt or soft blacktop.   Those would be super easy to make from plywood and scroll saw.
