Excalibur table scratches

Just wondering how to remove scratches on Excalibur 21" table. I have the DeWalt 788 and just sand it down using 220 grit. Not so sure if I would do the same on Excalibur due to shine type finish it has on surface of table. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hey Don, the Excalibur does have a coating on the table and does scratch easily. I don't think that there is anything you can do other that touch it up with paint, but that may be more unsightly than the scratch. Keep the table waxed so your wood blanks slide easier on the table to prevent scratches.

You could be holding down the wood too hard ,that will scratch the table too.

Another thing I do to minimize the scratching on my EX21 is that after I drill the starter holes, I lightly sand the bottom of the piece I'm cutting before I put it on the saw. This may help.

My EX21 table is worn at the front where I rub it with my apron and it also has scratches pretty bad all the way around the blade hole. I just keep it waxed so it don't rust and my work turns easily.  I use a lot of blue tape and probably should be more careful about keeping it off the back of my work piece. Anyway, it does not hurt the performance and it looks like I have been busy!LOL
