You guys are absolutely right.  I guess my post was off topic.  The monkeypod doesn't smell bad, just incapacitates you.  It isn't just me either.  Our Woodworking guild has an affiliation with a group that takes local hardwood trees when they have to be felled (there is a lot of hardwood in the Tampabay area) and arranges to get someone to bring in a sawmill and make useable lumber out of it instead of sending it to the brush site.  Everyone I know who messed with the Monkeypod had the same reaction.

Bill  Maybe not as far of topic as you think.  If monkey wood causes an allergic reaction in that many folks,  well that stinks!

Humans

Some references.
I remember a neighbors dog passing a few years ago and Him telling me that was the cause. Guess I should do more research before tagging it a killer. Looks more like an irritant to humans.

Technically, any hardwood will kill dogs, cats and goats..   If you hit them just right and hard enough.  I'd recommend a head shot...

Sorry, I love animals, I'm only joking of course...

Is there any wood that will kill little yappy dogs that like to chew on furniture?     Maybe I can make my father a new chair for his birthday.  Rotten little dog.
