Decisions
« on: January 18, 2013, 06:35:49 pm »
Well I made several decisions today this was only that I received one of my retirement checks a week early (this is my mad money check each month). ;D The first one was to buy a new Delta 40-695. After comparing it with the Dewalt 788 they are not only the same saw with different color schemes but are made by the same company in Taiwan even thou they are owned by different companies. I really would love to have had the Black n Gold Excalibur but dollars was an issue for that even thou I could afford the saw just did not want to spend almost all of my mad money right now. ::) ::) squeek squeek
Then I looked around and Amazon had the best price ($499) until I checked out and found they added another $79 for shipping. So I double checked Tyler tools it was $20 higher but free shipping $519.99. I canceled my order from Amazon and placed my order with Tyler Tools. It will be sooner than Amazon?s date. ;D

OH! It gets Better. :o :o

Well my saw is on the way and received confirmation of shipment. I received my mail today I received a notice that I will be getting an additional $1200 dollars on my work retirement check this month. I was only expecting $600. This is only a onetime thing in January until next year and it ends. I could have had my Black n Gold saw. AHHHHHHHHH :-\ :-\ :-\
Well I will order my Excalibur 21 next spring by then I may be cutting compound items.

I can now buy my new jointer this year

SSHHHHHHHHH don?t tell my wife.
 :o :o :o :o :o

You can't go against the good omens. I had bought a dewalt because at the time Rockler had them on sale for under 400 and with rebate, in store gift card and 10% off for membership to SAW. It was to replace the old one and wanted ex21 but not enought money. It was OK but not the quality of my old one. I was Ok with it then a year later I got a bonus not expected and was the right amount for Ex 21 ( my honey said it was OK) and so now I have 2 and can work with grandson and grandaughters teaching them next to each other.

Just to clarify King, the Delta 40-695 is not a clone of the DeWalt 788. It is similar, but not a clone. The 40-690 is the clone and is no longer being made but may still be available.

I have the Delta 695 since about June and Love it.   You will like the upper arm lift that is built in. Push the button and lift and it clicks into place.   I  do it one handed and it's a piece of cake.  Makes top feeding a breeze.  The only problem with the saw is I don't have enough time to fully use it  :)
