According to Axminster Power Tools (and most people I have spoken to ) once set you shouldn't need to touch the rear knob.
It's all a case of "Mind over Matter",  The Government don't Mind, and I don't Matter.

Julie no I only have a rear tention  adjuster.  It as to be adjusted when I change blade sizes and I am almost certain that it moves slightly when I raise and lower the arm.

Wow!  The last time I visited Seyco, Ray had one on display that had both tensioners.  I don't think I would like to adjust from the back.  I had to ask what the knob in the back was for.  Mine only adjusts from the front.
