i have some basswood rounds with bark around the edges, is there anything i can put on the bark or treat it to keep from flaking?

Not sure about bass wood but I think it depends on what time of the year the tree is cut down, some thing to do with the sap going to the roots

Minwax has a wood hardener. I don't know if that would work but it seems like it might.

thanks becky, i may try that, cause im sure they are things out there that will preserve and seal the bark so to speak from flaking, im just not familar with any.
