Sometimes I feel like a Butt

I brought a friend of mine over to show him how to work on the scroll saw. He picked out a pattern to make the angel holding a candle. He worked so hard on it, and it was really looking good. Trying to get the base to fit the main piece I helped him by tapping it a few times...one time too many. The right side wing flew off his beautiful project. Lucky for me my friend has a good temperament. After holding my head to the sander for a few minutes he calmed down and said it was no problem. LOL...actually he took it pretty good. So, now we have an excuse to get together so he can make this project a 2nd time.

Did you try to glue it back together? Most times after gluing, you can't even see the glue joint! DAMHIKT

Well it is drying as I type this. We will see if it wont look good when the glue dries and we sand it. Either way we will remake the project on another day. He is pretty happy with learning to use the saw.

making designer firewood, I do make that myself sometimes....  ::)

Well my update is that I managed to salvage it with glue. I think it looks pretty good. My friend will have a choice, keep it for himself or give it to me. If he gives it to me I would be proud to have it. Either way I know he is pretty happy with using my saw and he will be back to make another one for his mother. Still feel bad how it broke, but I have heard from several people I know that maple wood can often break on the grain.
