Actually yes, because my original intention was to do exactly what you did with the pegs. When I went to the local hardware store (Lowes) I didnt see any like what you used, so I improvised and got metal hooks. Thanks for showing your project for me to see how it would look if I had used the wood pegs.

Yes, I was fortunate to have 3 old wooden shaker pegs laying around from a previous project and a piece of walnut bark wood on hand and it seemed like a good place for Steve's nice Happy Trails pattern.  I'm sure your Dad will enjoy his Christmas gift.  What did you use for a hanger?

To hang this project I used 2 small self-leveling picture hangers. I bought them at Lowes. They seem to work pretty nice, but if there is a better way to hang such things I am open to know.
