2012 Christmas Exchange
« on: August 25, 2012, 07:15:44 pm »
A month or so ago I heard talk about a Christmas Ornament Exchange. I was just wondering if it had progressed any since then. Is there a place to sign up for it? Let me know I am interested in making an ornament and would love to exchange with someone.

Usually Russ will announce it around September or October. You still have a little time!

Ok, looking forward to it. I know I am new at this hobby and not as good as some, but I really am enjoying it and think this blog site is just the best. A lot of good people helping people like me.

it's not about how good you are, we all have a different levels, but we all enjoy the same hobby.

for me the exchange is:

the pleasure of making an ornament,
it's about the joy of sharing.
the tension of waiting
and last, the excitement of receiving!

just a little time before Russ kicks off,
you'll like it!

I couldn't agree with Marcellarius more, it doesn't matter how good you are, or even if you are a complete beginner. It's the fact someone cares enough to put their time, effort and love into an ornament to send on to another member of this great family we have here. I think that's what makes it so special and I cant wait for it to begin. And no matter whether I recieve a gift from a really experienced scroller or from a total novice, my gift will be treasured for years to come.

My wife started. Small tree only for ornaments received from the exchange, even though we have only done it a couple of years.  Each ornament is special on its own because it came from someone here.

I'm in the UK - a noob scroller and have never made an ornament - should be a challenge - you do accept shavings and chippings as donation no ?  :D
