I designed these this morning and wanted to share them with everyone.

Let me know what you think.

WOW! These trivets are really nice.  I can already see them on tables around the world. Thanks for sharing. I grabbed a copy of each. I will get around to cutting them. but I also save patterns to to help me learn to design myself. Again Thanks!

You can use them for hot pan holders (use oak or some other hard wood that can withstand the heat) or reduce the pattern and use them for coasters.

Ok wsmith0896,  that was what I thought I could use them to make, lol, so that is called a trivets, we call it a wooden pot block/holder, lol

thank you for the post and info, I have some hickory that will work just great for this, if it dry, should be I cut the tree down in June, cut about 35 pieces from a section of log about 1 to 2 inch thick with dia of 10 to 8 inch which should work, need to cut those in half or 3 pieces, try to leave bark on as much as possible, what you think, this a plausible ideal,

Hey Rob, Air dried wood will take an average of one year per inch of thickness to dry. If you use wood that is not thoroughly dry, it will warp and crack on you before you finish cutting!
Please don't get me wrong for saying this, but you need to start cutting and accumulating experience before you start planning all you want to do!

Dan the man, No I am not going to get you wrong and I thank you for my mistake, pointing it out, I was not thinking well here,

Once I walked over to that pile of wood I have I would of seen that it was not cured and would of not used it, All the other hickory I have is chopped up into chunks for smoken BBQ, I do have a few logs that well maybe Ok, but as they are logs may not be, will have to get the atv out and drag one up from the back to see, they are all over 10" in dia.

I do have a dead white oak that I need to cut down, was hit by lightening what 3/4 years ago, hell I just remembered, that lightening also hit the hickory next to it, made a widow maker and its still hanging there, god I have so much work to still do here and get caught up on, gees wiz's, dia on that I think is around 6 to 8",

Here I go telling my life story, meds again, did not work much on shop either today,

Again thanks for the help, Poppa Rob
