Old Fashioned Country Wagon
« on: August 29, 2012, 06:49:53 pm »
I've been wanting to try this project for some time and finally got around to it. I designed and built what I call an Old Fashioned Country Wagon. You know the kind you seen in the old westerns that are used by itinerants who sell snake oil or carry on some kind of mercantile business. Well this is just a model, of course, intended as a tabletop decoration -- not really a toy. I ended up making three of them for starters and they didn't come out too bad. One was from cherry another from birch and still another from pine. The pine one was decorated as a special Halloween wagon and the others are supposedly for a mythical mercantile. If you'd like to build one using my pattern it is available on my free page at my website listed below. I used my scroll saw mainly for the horse and cutting out sections of the wagon sides. You'll also find sample logos, along with a pattern for the horse. If you work on this project, please let me know how your come out. Lots of room for imagination here.
