scroll saw withdrawal
« on: August 08, 2012, 09:25:12 pm »
Well the problem I wrote about the saw marks showing  a while ago (July 21) came back with a vengence.  I have tried every thing.  So I finally gave up and made the 100 mile one way drive to Fargo.  The Repair guy says he is 3 weeks backed up so I will be looking for more patterns to create, sanding and staining what is ready, and maybe HEAVEN FORBID cleaning house.  They told me they can't even get the Delta 40-695 anymore.

Sorry to hear the bad news, Judy.  Withdrawal can be tough, especially if the alternative is house cleaning.  Maybe the repair guy will take pity on you and slide your machine to the head of the line.

Did he tell you why the 40-695 isn't available?

Best of luck,
Jim

Generally the issue of the repair shop being "backed-up" can be remedied with a $20 bill....

Repair Shop Backup...

I have found that a '12 pack' in a plain brown wrapper does wonders for getting their attention also.

Judy...maybe by the time it is ready the GAS prices will drop a little!

I never really wanted to grow up....All I wanted was to be able to reach the cookie jar...and play with my DW 788

:DWell I tried flirting with him but since I am old, fat and ugly and so was he, that didn't go over so well.  ;D I should have thought of the $20 or the six pac.

The 40-690 is the one that puked on me.
Acme Electric in Fargo told me yesterday they couldn't get the 40-695 either.
Just talked to Delta and they say there is no problem getting the 40-695.
Tyler tools says they have 40-695 too.

I don't know who to believe.  I am considering ordering one just to see.

I had to be with out my saw for about a week earlier this summer, and I thought I would go crazy. When I finally got back to my saw I was there for nearly 2 days straight. It is such a relaxing thing for me, it is hard to be with out. I am going on a family vacation for a few days next week and will be without it again, but this time I am at least prepared with scrolling/woodworking magazines and books.

I guess I'm a scrollsaw junkie, too.  Last year my DeWalt was in the shop for what seemed like forever...   I bought an EX 16.  I don't want to live through the 'no cutter syndrome again.

I'm no junkie.  I have not had withdrawals ever when I have the rare bad luck to have to send my scrollsaw to the shop.  Of course it helps to have two of them.  :)

You're NOT UGLY and that's for sure. The old fart probably needed glasses or he's married.
Try the bribe or the booze next time just ask him what his favorite brew is.  ;D ;D
