Revised overlay project
« on: July 22, 2012, 12:34:08 pm »
TripleB put up a post about our little brain storm (with my brain it was a short session !!!!)    I have read all of the comments and can not thank you enough for the input.   I was looking at it this morning and was trying to figure out what I could do to bring out the Tiger.   Since I had already sealed it I tried putting a little mineral spirits on the spots where the Tiger and deer were and then applied some stain.  Of course it didn't take to well but maybe enough to get the idea.  Just wanting to know if you think this is the direction we need to go.  All comments are welcome as trial and error is the only way to perfect something.  With out your comments I would not have thought to do this.  Doing a before and after picture so you can see the difference.  Marion

I too wanted to thank everyone, and MrsN, for the comments. The advantage you have is seeing it for the first time, when designing or making something, you already know what it is, so the Tiger being hard to see was something neither one of us caught on to. And Marion came up with what I think was a great solution to the problem. I like her idea so much I think I'm gonna take one of the Santa's I just made and play with coloring the hat to make it pop a little more. I'll post it when I do it.

And please keep the suggestion for improving this coming, they really are greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

Bob

I like your concept and the changes you've made.  you've brought out the tiger and deer a lot.  I'm not real keen on the tiger sitting "back" in the image.  Maybe if the ledge were pushed back it would help.

The project is intriguing however.

Before and After show the result and the improvement. Go for the added color and depth.

Very nice collaborative concept.

The tiger is much more prevelant now and commands the scene.  Nicely done.

Much improved.  I now know there is a deer in the picture, and the tiger is more pronounced.

I can see you two will have some fantastic future pictures.
