Arm holder-upper

Okay, so I don't know the techno-name for it, but is there a device that raises the arm of (and holds it up) an Excalibur 30?  I seem to recall someone talking about a device that you can step on, and hold down with your foot, to do this.

TIA,

Bill

The arm should  stay up on it's own if properly adjusted.

It can, if I tighten it up, but the arthritis in my shoulder is bothering me when I push it up and pull it down.  Old age sucks.

Like my wife loves to say "getting old is not  for sissy's".
I imagine one could rig up a foot operated pulley system to lift the arm.

Lisa likes to say, "It beats the alternative."

I was thinking the same thing, about a pulley system, but I could swear I read someone writing about an aftermarket system on this blog.  I've searched the archives, Googled it, and left a message for Ray at Seyco.

Hey Bill. The older versions of the Excalibur saws used to have that accessories available when they where manufactured by Summerville Designs in Canada. The current versions distributed by General International do not have this capacity.
I have seen some homemade devices made with pulleys and such, But I can't remember where I saw them. Might make a good holiday weekend project!
