Hey Don, As a scroll saw instructor, I start my beginner students with regular skip tooth blades. The reverse tooth blades require that you hold down the workpiece firmly to the table. Get used to the saw and cutting first, then try other blades. Actually cutting at a slow speed can cause the blade to catch the wood, and cause the wood to bounce on the table. I usually set the speed on the saw at about 4 on the Dewalt saw (about 1100 spm) for beginners, then they can adjust accordingly from there.
