Meisel Hardware
« on: April 01, 2012, 09:26:08 am »
The last issue of Scroolsaw woodworking and crafts magazine had a pattern for a beaver birdhouse. You need plastic eyes to complete it. So before I started making this thing I ordered them from Meisel Hardware(where the plans came from). Birdhouse is now cut, stained, and assembled but 2 weeks later items not yet even shipped from Meisel. The most frustrating part is I live in the southern metro area of Minneapolis MN. Guess where Meisel is located? Mound MN!!!!! Mound is a western suburb. I have called them probably 6 times wondering what the deal is and finally talked to someone on Friday who didnt have a completely rude tone to their voice. Just wondering if anyone here has ever dealt with this company before. If so is this how they run their business or did my order just fall through the cracks. Thanks

I have never dealt with this company, however I would contact the owner (google him) and send him a letter making him aware of how rude his employees are.  Should make a big difference. For every *rude* person there is 20 out there waiting to take his place!!

I dealt with Meisel Hardware for many years, and still do, never had a problem with them, I bought eyes and whirly gig parts from them, and they are very reasonable. This is only my opinion.  Edward

I have bought many items from Meisel and have never encountered any problems. I would definitely contact their main office to register your concerns.

I have dealt with them also. only one problem in the course of dealings and that was a backorder of some mini lights and they were eventually shipped and as a reward for slow delivery they gave me a 20% discount. Otherwise they have been good to deal with,
As above....report rude employees! I do it constantly BUT I also compliment very GOOD employees!

I have had good service and products from Meisel in the past.  However, just this last couple months I had an order that was sent but was not complete.  When I e-mailed the company for an update on the rest of my order, the contact person, in this case named Laurie, had a very short and close to rude reply.  Eventually, she claimed that it would be sent out the first of the month (March).  Mid March came and went without receiving anything, so I just cancelled the order.

I wonder if they're having company problems or new employees that were not hired for their customer service skills...?

I hope you have better results, Jay.

I have used Meisel several times.  Many times the patterns I have ordered have been backordered.  I have also had to wait on parts.  Very frustrating.  Rarely is an order sent complete.

I had a problem with Meisel a few years ago, and now I deal with scrollerltd.com, or thewinfieldcollection.com , which owns scrollerltd. They will have the eyes that you need. Very prompt in shipping, and very nice to talk to if you phone your order in, or have questions.
