I just got my Wisconsin Trapper magazine and on the front cover is a coyote trapper with two wolves in the background. He said when he got close he knew he had a problem. He said the female grey weighed 70 lbs and and the grey weighed 45lbs.
He had immediately called a game warden to explain his dilemia. They sent wildlife specialists from Rhinelander and they told him to not to disturb them. They guesstimated the weight, checked their teeth, took measurements, drew blood, body temp and then put collars on them. They monitored their recovery and they were released. The trapper saw the black one and thought what is a dog doing way out here.
He said it was an unbelieveable experience and he managed to trap a coyote that day.
