The best home protection is a sign in your front yard that reads, "My neighbor doesn't believe in guns."  Don't forget the arrow pointing whichever way you want.

I like Bill's suggestion, but I just read a warning and should have passed it along.
Thieves are targeting shooting matches, gun shows and any other large groups of shooters.
They place a sticker or tag of some kind of some kind much like the police do if you are in a posted parking zone on the vehicles then watch to see what is loaded into the vehicle then follow them until they stop for lunch or dinner, then break in and steal the guns. Putting NRA stickers or pro gun stickers on your vehicle is a bad idea for the same reason. It just draws their attention to a possible cache of guns.
