ornaments
« on: December 26, 2011, 08:50:37 pm »
This is the first time that I have been in the ornament exchange.  I sent mine and never heard from the person and I have not recieved mine.  I am very disapointed at this.  I was really looking forward to getting one from a secret person.  Well It never happend.  So I do not think I will be in the one next year.  Please forgive me for I am just blowing of steam.  After this I will say nothing any more about it.  Thanks for haveing a ear for me to chew on.

Don't give up yet Gene. Sometimes they get sent late. Last year, I didn't get mine till New Years Eve. Maybe you can contact Russ and see who was supposed to send to you, then contact them. Last year it was an even exchange between two members, this year The person I sent to was not the one who sent to me.

Dan's right Gene dont give up as all of the postal service was at breaking point with all the online shopping and it may have to travel overseas, hang in there you may get a surprise yet ! ;)
Dan i was not in this year as i was a bit to late to enter but i was looking forward to next year but i am a little surprised that it is not a even exchange between two members , is their a reason it was changed from last year?

Hi Gene,

it's good to blow of steam sometimes.

last year i didn't get my ornament and didn't get any reaction on the one i send.
asked the person a couple of times if he received it. no reaction.
did feel sad for a little wile, but then i thought.
don't judge a person until you walk a mile in his shoes....

you did what you had to do, made the ornament with love and joy and send it.

all this came back to me with this years exchange.
and guess what, this year I did got mine and the joy made last years disappointment disappear completely!

so hang in there Gene, maybe it will come after all.

@ Gene, I have e-mailed the person to find out what is going on. They have kind of disappeared, hasn't posted on the forum since around the first of November. Unfortunately this kind of thing happens sometimes, even on other forums I have participated in.    :)

@ Pete, you are not suppose to know until it arrives. Suppose to be a surprise. First year the data base I used paired people up by accident and I didn't notice until I had already started sending out e-mails so I just left it that way.  8)

Thank you Russ for looking into it, and thank all of you for the encouragement of holding on.  I think this is what friends are for, listening to one blow off steam, then not condeming them, but encourageing them.  Even though we have never seen each other, a friendship developes with one another.  So Thank you my FRIENDS, thank you for being there.

Just received an e-mail from the member, there was some kind of shipping error.

"I have been told it is on the way back to me and I will properly send it out ASAP.
Unfortunately this one wasn?t discovered until Christmas morning."

Hope this helps and makes you feel better.

Hey...remember what happened to the one I sent!

Two weeks after mailing it came back to me. Fortunately the ornament was OK but the entire mailer I put it in was destroyed. They were able to read my return address so I sent it off again and last week I warned the recipient that it might arrive late.

I did not receive one due to my SS being ill and I totally understand. I was notified and sent a reply that it will be appreciated when it gets here no matter when that may be.

Lucky me...I still have something to look forward to in the mail every day EXCEPT bills!
