Hey Termite, Unfortunately it is a common problem with the DeWalt 788 that has been well used. There is a an adjustment that can be made, but is only temporary. Over the years, I had adjusted my old saw to many times that I lost my cutting thickness capacity, so I couldn't cut any thicker than 3/4", so I replaced it with a new 788. I still have the old one. I guess I should have serviced to have a spare saw, but I can't afford it right now.
I will be curious what it costs to get yours fixed.
