Portrait patterns
« on: October 04, 2011, 09:28:43 pm »
Is there someone on the forum that produces patterns from pictures at a charge. I have tried various programs but it isnt my strong suit. I have people that want me to do portraits of family members and I will pay for the patterns. Thanks in advance

Sincerely,
John

I charge $20 to start.  Sometimes more if highly detailed and/or multiple subjects.  Email is artistic_cowboy30@yahoo.com.  Pictures must be clearly focused and large enough to see detail.  Sometimes that doesn't happen due to a death and that's understandable.  Just know that I can only do as good a pattern as the photo lets me.

This is something I have been wanting to know myself. I get people wanting cuttings of a custom portraits from time to time. I hate to ask people to do the patterns for free if I am making a profit of the cutting so I have never really took on a actual sale order. I do from time to time make these for a friend etc and have made free pattern request. I always try to make a pattern myself first and sometimes I get lucky and can make it myself if its a easy one to make, LOL

Thanks for posting this,
Kevin

Kevin,
I cant speak for all pattern makers on here, but personally I have no problem if someone uses one of the patterns I created to make some money at local markets etc. It gives me great pleasure getting feedback that people like my pattern enough to add it to their 'To Do' list and greater pleasure when I see a picture of one of my patterns cut out.
Im sure im not the only pattern maker who feels this way.

I greatly appreciate the help I'm received here. For the most part, I'm able to make my own patterns, however sometimes one feature or another doesn't suit me well and then, that when I come a callin'

Thanks again for the help.
