Nice Dan!  My family and my wife's came from Ky.  I may have to make a few of those for presents.  They'd make great keychain fobs to.  We used to always say; "Kentucky, the land of fast women and pretty horses."

I'm not sure how to make a pen on a scrollsaw.   ::)

Thanks folks.

Bill, that's a great idea for a key chain. I never thought of that. As far as making the pen, I cut the design on a pen blank with the scroll saw then turned it on the lathe. I did see someone actually made some round pens using a scroll saw and belt sander. They came out pretty good, too.

Am I right in coming to the conclusion that the horse is on opposite sides of the pen?

Sorry Gabby. I sometimes don't explain things so well. I cut the wood blank in half lenghtwise, then cut the horse from just the one side, then glue the blank back together. This way it only shows on one side. I did it that way so I could add some words to the other side if I wanted to. Hope it makes sense.

Makes perfect sense to me.  I was just trying to joke about using the scroll saw for the pen.  See you made a fool out of the fooler!  Good job!

You might also use the horse pattern in a bookmark.  I think it has a lot of possibilities.
