Hardly a day goes by that a day doesn't go by, but I know that candle holder or the collapsible basket someone ordered will be around for years after I have turned the saw off for the last time, whoa...that is deeeeeep! ;)
I love the smell of saw dust in the morning.

I'm really glad I shared my thoughts with you folks. This has been a good topic and I hope more will chime in here and share their interests, feelings and experiences!
This is what makes Steves forum and scrolling so interesting and enjoyable.

I just turned 80 on July 12th and have enjoyed woodworking since my High School years. I have owned a Hegner 18v scrollsaw for 20 plus years but used it exclusively for cutting intricate parts for my whirligigs which has always been my specialty. I started to scrollsaw 2 years ago and am addicted to it. It has always  proven to be an enjoyable part of my woodworking experience. I had to put it on hold as I suffered a stroke 2 months ago and cannot work in the shop as yet but I will resume my scrolling when the doctor feels I am well enough. I was left with weakness on my left side but Thank God I did not suffer any Brain damage. Doctors feel I will eventually recover fully and I feel upbeat that I will be able to venture out to my shop in the near future. To me,
Scrollsawing is a stress breaker and a challenge at the same time, so in ending I concur that age is no barrier to scrolling as long as your health holds up.

I was 47 when I started scrolling but I really wish I had know about it sooner, I wasted a lot of years on crafts I either was not really good at or didn't like.  From the first day that my husband showed me how to use the scroll saw I was in love.  My husband had brought it for himself but he as never been on it, I sort of took it over  ;D I often tell him that its the best present he ever bought me.  ::)

The scroll saw club that I visit has members who are mostly in the 60-70 age range, I remember the surprised looks I got when I first walked in a few years ago when I was in my late 20's  ;D
Age is no barrier and have seen some great work done by the older members, some of which I dont think i'd have the patience in doing.
