Gene start out by clicking on your own name, then along the side of the page will be several options, such as adding your avatar or photo, I used Gabby Hayes.
Be careful and don't hit the Delete button as some of us have been known to do. No names mentioned, LOL if you do you will have to re-register and start from scratch.

Any photo or picture will have to be reduced as per instructions. I don't have them in front of me.

As for adding photos to the forum thread click reply or new topic and the typing box will open just like it did when you made this request. Over at the left bottom corner of the message box is a note, "additional options" click that,
there is a heading "attach" with a bar to the right. click on "browse" and a window will open that says "choose file" you can go to any file in your PC select it and download it to the forum as long as the attachment is no larger than 128 KB and you can have as many as 4 of that size per post.
Give it a try and muddle through it.
Before you go thru all of that type a simple search for Paint.NET it is a fairly easy photo editing and drawing software and totaly FREE and good for us computer challenged.
Once you have that you can resize any photo.
Good Luck,
Gabby
I got called to supper and didn't get to finish.
Feel free to send me a personal message and I will try to help you through if you have more problems.
I'm not a compuker guru, but I do know what works for me.

I am trying this one more time in a different program.  It is a picture of my wife and me in Israel.  We spent two weeks there last November.

Ok you are getting the hang of it but try not to make the photos you want to share too small. if you click on you and the wife and then zoom in you will see what happens. It gets to the point where the pixels start to blur and then the details are lost. Look at the photos others post to see the difference.
Experiment, if you don't like the results you can delete it and try again until you get it right.
The program I told you about will let you resize by stages till you get what you want, that's what the UNDO button is for. That is the little curved arrow pointing to the left, the REDO button curves and points to the right. Don't expect to get it down pat all at once, it's just like anything else we learn to do. Trial and error, just remember to learn from them both.  :)
