Don't know how good these will show as I had to reduce them down so much. Helped make the frames ... my sister did the paintings of my horses. One thing I did learn, I will not be using high gloss again.

I like number 2 better goes with the subject best (Just my opinion). I mostly use a satin finish it is softer and easier on the eyes.

Very nice work on the frames. I use only satin finishes on them as glossy tends to distract from what is being framed. Just my opinion though. Your sister did great on the horses.

I like them both, for different reasons; as Gabby said, #2 fits the subject matter better (and I think it's a cool design) and #1 looks like a very nice miter cut, which I admire.
Great job.
Are these your first frames?

My brother in law likes the gloss .. I don't. I "helped" with the frames but he did most of the work. I did the routing on the mitered one. I have to make my own as "homework" in the near future. My sister does great oil paintings and I am trying to do something to incorporate the scrolling and paintings together.

Great job on the frames, Marion. Did you make a lap joint with your router on the second one?? How did the lessons go?
