Excalibur top blade holder
« on: March 05, 2011, 02:18:05 pm »
Is anyone having trouble with the top blade holder? Holder slipping on blade be4fore or during cutting? I've done all the possible stuff to try to correct this and nothing works. Talked with Ray of Seyco and done all the things he said to do. Just wondering if any one else has a blade holder problem.

Rarely, but yes, I've experienced that as well.  With me, it's like the blade is slipping down a little at a time.  Are you a top feeder?  I'm sort of thinking that's got something to do with it for me.

I have a Dremel (don't laugh) and when that happens to me I fold a piece of emery paper, put it in and loosen slightly and pull it out just enough to roughen it up a little, it seems to work
I love the smell of saw dust in the morning.

Clean the blade ends and rough them up with a little sand paper.  :)

How old are the tips of your blade holders.  The only time I have that problem is when I have worn them down or am using a very small blade.

I find that some blades slip both top and bottom I and I reckon it's the blades as I have changed the thumb screws for toggle screws so I can get more leverage but some blades still slip out
