When I retired five years ago the paid us 80% of our sick leave up to 1200 hrs, 100% of our vaction up to 800 hrs. Called in sick for six weeks before I retired, cashed out the rest of my sick and all my vaction time and walked away with a nice chuck of change. Used the money to buy my boat.
