Making lemonade out of lemons with the Sand-flee
« on: February 01, 2011, 06:06:13 pm »
Hi all have not posted for awhile so here is an update. Lol last time I was here I talked about how I was trying to get my shop together with all my new tools. Well the roof had caved in on the garage so I had to wait til that was fixed than we had the bad rain storm last week of December and we got 34 inches of rain out of that one storm and the damage was so bad the house got redtagged sOOOOOOOOOO we had to move and fast. We moved in the Jan 2nd bad snowstorm and I gotta tell ya it was the move from hell. The movers had just got the last bit of furniture in than it cut loose full force! I had Hubby move all my tools in a pickup truck including my new sand-flee. Hang in there it gets worse rofl! 3 days after the move hubby I thought broke his ankle coming down the stairs but Thank the good lord he spranged it instead and is doing great with a brace now. This morning we were going off the mountain to pick up my Valentines gift from hubby A new router and router table than he drops the bomb lol he says Honey since we are going to Sears to pick this stuff up I have to confess something I have been hiding for the last month so I said wait tell I pull into this turnout then tell me. He says ya know when me and Don moved all your tools in the pickup I said yes and he says well I had forgot to bolt your sand-flee to the stand and forgot about it and when we lifted the stand with the Sand-flee it fell off the pickup truck I closed my eyes and said to the lord I am starting to feel like job from the bible. Hubby says so when we get to Sears I am ordering you another one. He had gotten me a dewalt planer and the stand I said was everything else bolted to their stands and thank heavens they were. Rofl! so we picked up my order and ordered another sand-flee we got home and I made him show me the damage to the other one and it was just tweaked a tiny bit I fixed that and a little piece of fin came off the motor but all is well so I will have 2 sand-flees but here is how I made lemonade out of a bad situation the man who helped us move did so in that snowstorm and he loved my sand-flee but could never afford one so I gave him the first sand-flee and he is so happy. I wanted to do something nice for this man for all the help he gave us during the move from hell.  So looks like things worked out and since I have been married to hubby for 40 years he is forgiven.

Yep sure is but I have to finish all the unpacking from the garage first. The house that was redtagged was not mine we sold our house 5 years ago and leased the redtagged one. We lived in that house for 5 years and the landlord just did not fix anything. If I had not been so ill I would have moved long ago. We sold our house because we have lived on this mountain for many years and had many friends lose their homes in the wildfires over the years so we just wanted to lease our homes. The home I have leased now is great with no problems.

Don the man I gave the sand-flle to just called and says hey Sandy do ya think I could get hubby to drop your new dewalt planer and he just roared. I told him if hubby did that would be it cause I would pour superglue all over him let it dry and run him thru my planer.

After a long illness and making it in spite of what doctors said I learned to live my life one day at a time and love every day I am given. But when I get to heaven I still want my golden scroll saw. Lol.

It was good that you realized accidents happen and wasn't to mad at your husband. How nice of you to give the sand-flee to Don. I think you might have made a friend also. Thanks for sharing the story and glad you survived the move.  :)

Yep Dan I am still in Lake Arrowhead I have lived in these mountains for a long time and I will never leave. Nope no book I am anxious to get my shop in order. Finally! Sand-flee should be shipping out and getting here soon but with those bad storms back there I bet it gets held up.
