G.B.,

I just went to skilshop.com and read a bunch of reviews.  It looks like everyone who bought it would recommend it, and the biggest con was the weight.

Looks like it's on sale there for $99 and you can get accessories, like a down-draft table.  I want one!   :)

I made my DECISION!

Monday i am going to put my "Workmate" on Craig's List and see if I can get a few dollars for it and then i will order the Skil 'table'! (damn WorkMate is always in the way and heavy)

From all the reviews I have read at Skil and Amazon the complaints are Weight (if you want sturdy, sacrifice) and chipping of the laminate (cosmetic).

I want a 'foldable' table to which I can clamp wood to use the circular saw, to clamp the small router table and to be portable yet STURDY.

The 'adjustable height' legs sold me!

I'm NOT going for any of the accessories, tho! Too pricey and I can fabricate what I will need.

Will keep you posted when I get it and start using it.

Right now I'm using an old door on two sawhorses.  I think this is such a great idea!

That is very similar to what i was using...the top of an old chest my dad made back in the mid 50's about 2' x 4' on two horses...always chasing the surface and more than once it fell off!

Will let you when I get the X-table and how it works out!

Happy New Year....

I have a wood workers table I built years ago. The X-bench looks like it would be handy for small work areas and I like some of the accessories.  8)
