Crappy Weather.....
« on: December 11, 2010, 05:36:21 pm »
is on the way!

Just looked out back and counted 27 birds on my feeders!

Drizzle right now, snow later and blowing snow and very cold tomorrow!
High tomorrow - 28?
Winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Colder than a nun's N&$$#&% on Good Friday!

It is suppose to be here Sunday night into Monday. The High Monday is supposed to only be in the upper 40's. That is cold for Florida.  8)

Just got home from my saturday night stint at the hockey rink.
10? colder that when I went at 6:00.
Currently 21? - wind out of the West at 30 mph - Wind Chill 5? and dropping.
So far no snow yet but could have an inch by sunrise (Hah!) and a little more during the day. However, we have been know to get a 'prediction' of 1 - 3" and actually receive 8 or 9"!
The confluence of the Mississippi and the Missouri Rivers makes weather predicting in this area a 'crap shoot'!

I'm home, warm and not planning to go anywhere for the next two days!
Plenty of 'projects' to finish for Christmas....

I have spent my day putting plastic up over all the windows and the front door.  Then looking for all the other holes in the house to stuff with Walmart sacks and duck tape.  Even made our own weather stripping out of a card board box for the front door.
19 degrees with a windchill of 3 degrees and the wind blowing about 25 miles an hour.  Going to get really cold Ed.  Bundle up.

It's blowing snow so hard, were having white outs. If it keeps this up, I'll be out plowing snow off the fire house parking lots. 8 of them and the Front Office. That use to be fun. But it's not anymore! Dave 8)

Please be careful if you have to venture out!

And we all pray that you get no 'alarms' tonight!

I have fought fires in this kind of stuff and know what you will be facing!

Had a laugh yesterday when I opened the door to let the dog out.  When he saw the snow and the wind blowing, he backed up sat down and said "No way!".  He did however go out later and played in the snow.  He won't stay out very long as his ears get really cold.
It is 7 this am but feels like -4.
