Truck
« on: November 18, 2010, 08:36:28 pm »
Here is a truck and car I made for my grand son, it is the thickest wood I have cut being 2" thick, I had to take very slow as the blade was flexing a bit

Very nice Jimbo! I have cut 2" hardwood on my scroll saw before. Very tuff to do, but doable!

Very nice Jimbo.  What blade did you use?  I have found sometimes using spirals the new reverse ones work pretty decent on very thick wood.  The kerf is a little bigger but for some reason the blade does not seem to flex as much.

Came out great.  You grandson should get years of play out of it.

I turned the wheels on the lathe, just a long dowel for 10 wheels and cut them on the band saw then put them in a 25mm chuck and shaped the out side of the wheel.
I took it up to Lachlan on the WE and he played with it for a while but was a bit grumpy a bit of a cold I think
