I went out to my garage yesterday and happened to look up, OUCH!

Just wrap some plumbers tape around it! That sould do it! ::)

I see you already have suggestions, but what was it again? If ductape can't fix it it aint broken. Hope you get it fixed.

It is all fixed!
I do not know how it happened. It is old and a lot of knots right there where it cracked.
A carpenter friend and I sistered the new joist end to end after clamping the old cracked one. So all safe again.
