Hi Julief as far as parades and festivals go the Dutch are a boring nation, we celebrate the 30th of april and am looking into getting a stand there. Then the 4th and 5th of May we have our war commerations, but no big festivities as such. Hobby and craft shows are far and few between and normally at the other side of the country 150km away and as I don't drive I don't go there. I have signed in for a news letter from our local council telling me what will be happening in the coming months. I am quite jealous of you guys with your fairs and craft shows, but guess you can't have everything.
Let you know how I make out.

What is the tourism like in your town?  Are there gift shops, christian book stores, children's boutiques???  Where do you currently sell your wares?

David it would take quite a lot of work but why don't you organize your towns First Annual Christmas Bazaar?  You will make money just being the host.
Talk to a local church or school about using a hall or gym, make up flyers, get a blurb in the paper, get people to pre-register and have a ball.

Hi Julief,
I live in a quite town, the christian bookstore is bound to so many rules that it does not want/can not sell for me. Futher it's a bit of a one horse town just bigger but just as boring.
Dunk if you knew all the rules and regulations this end you would know it would take up to 6 months just to get the approval if you got that far and then about another 6 months to get it going. Thanks for the idea but no thanks.
Currently I sell by way of word by mouth and might get permission to sell at our church once in a while I asked and the guy I asked thought it a good idea he needed to run it by some others and will get back to me.
Thanks for the comments and ideas enjoy reading them and thinking on them.

I had the same thought Dunk and besides I won't even be allowed to orginize it as I am on disability and organizing an event will count as work and to much extra income, of which nearly all will be taken back by the gov. plus I risk a penalty. I am allowed to make some extra bucks but no more than I think $750 a year. But I think I will give the flea market here a chance, maybe I sell something, renting space plus stall is only a tenner a day, am bound to make that at least and it might just be fun, I love watching people.

In that case.  I hope you truly enjoy your day of people watching and perhaps a few sales.  I personally hope you sell out and are forced to make a ton of sawdust to replenish stock!

Take some pics and let us know how it goes for you.  I'm rootin for you!
