I would use Gorilla SUPER glue. Sets up fast and strong.

i normally use titebond wood glue, i have heard that gorilla glue expands but im not familar enough with it. ive had portraits with pieces that have broken as i was removing the pattern after cutting, its frustrating but i have either left the broken piece out if it isnt critical or i have glued the piece in.

Gorilla SUPER glue and Wood glue do not expand and they will do the job.
Or Titebond Wood Glue or  Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Glue also will get the job done.  8)

Any CA glue will do.  Gorilla SUPER glue doesn't expand.

Hey Madhatter, regular Gorilla glue is a polyurethane glue and will expand. Gorilla supper glue is a CA glue and will not expand.

MadHatter. Gorilla Glue Company makes several different glues. Epoxy, Wood, Super and The Gorilla Multipurpose Polyurethane adhesive. The multipurpose polyurethane adhesive does expand and you have to be careful how you use it. So you where right about one of them, they just make several kinds.  8)

Ditto, CA glue is called for.  I use the gel type, it stays in one spot better, important when there is not much surface to bond.  I have used it successfully many times however  sometimes there is not enough area to glue to and that is frustrating.  Good Luck Newfie.

I would add I use tweezers and grab the piece and make sure it will fit and you know which way it goes back in then put a drop of Gel CA glue and hold it in place for a few seconds and that's it good as new.
