Our friends from 'Down Under' may have already seen this.

Just goes to show you that a tragedy effects more than the victim.
No wonder Firefighters & Police Officers have nightmares. Dave

You want to see some of the drink drive adds we get in NZ the police motto is [IF YOU DRINK AND DRIVE YOU ARE A BLOODY IDIOT] and some of the adds are really realistic, but wether people take much notice I am not sure as there is still carnage on the roads and most of it is speed related in my opinion

Rightarm/Dave....

I still have them 35 years later!
Probably the worst scene I ever encountered was four college kids in an open convertible that came over a hill and ran under the back end of a stalled tractor trailer! We got back to the station and had to hose each other down to remove all the traces.

Worst one for me was seven kids in the back of a pickup rear-ended by a semi.  One of the mothers (who was 26 yrs old at the time) arrived shortly after it happened and was so horrified she died at the scene from a heart attack.   :(

The worst are friends or family. When I came on in 81 most of the Officers were hard battle worn guys that had been in the military. When something like this would happen, they would take you off to the side. And they would show you how to cope with such an expirence. Most likely when you shift was over, you all met at a local bar, and bury yourself into a bottle. I quess I have a vault somewhere in the back of my brain that I store all of these memories in. Every once in a while the door will creep open. Then you relive the scene all over again. Today the FD has head bangers on retainer that come to the firehouse and sits down to talk with the new breed of Firefighters. Which I quess is a good thing. But you can always tell when a guy has a lot of time on the job. Because he's the one off by himself working on a piece of equipment, waiting for his shift to end. Dave

Powerful video... powerful words from you all.

My hubby has always said "speed kills" and he likes to avoid highways when we can.  Smart man.   ;D

I'm going to pass this video on to my niece and nephew... who are still rookie drivers.

Wonderful idea, Janet.
If it saves one small injury I will be pleased!
