Using flawed cedar

Some of my cedar I get has flaws in it and I have been working around them. I decided to use them as a feature of the product. Not a lot of scroll saw work but a nice project. I made eight of these nine inch long boxes.

Those are not flaws, they are character.
I love seeing knot holes and live edge in most wood working projects. They let it be known that "this is real wood" and not paint or plastic.

The flaws in Cedar are one of the joys of working with it. Great looking boxes. The knots can be shined up and the look like they have a 3d element to them. Thanks for sharing this with us.
