Inkscape Question?
« on: May 15, 2015, 12:23:20 pm »
Question for you Inkscape users.  When you join 2 or more objects as one (I think it is called welding), can it be un-joined or un-welded?  I have been skimming thru Travis's videos but did not find this, if it is in one of his lessons maybe someone could mention which lesson.

TIA, Bob

When you "weld" are you talking about combining or grouping two objects.  ie select 2 or more objects with shift down and then under the object menu select group.  This can be ungrouped by select and then the ungroup.

If you are talking about using the intersect function under the path menu I do not think that this can be undone except undo the previous function in the edit menu.

They are put together with Control + G and consist of 4 lines of text, I think it is called welding but not sure.

Ok Don, that does it.  I mistakenly thought it was called weld, but apparently it is grouping and shift + ctrl + G undoes it.  Thanks a bunch.
